This course is aimed at learners who wish to become first aiders in the workplace. The course covers the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, how to assess an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness.

Topics Covered

  1. Roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
  2. Assessing an emergency situation safely.
  3. First aid skills in CPR and use of an AED.
  4. Administering first aid to a choking casualty and dealing with shock, burns, scalds, bleeds and minor injuries.
  5. Assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, bone and joint injuries, heart attack, stroke, epileptic seizure, spinal injuries, anaphylaxis and correct use of auto-injectors.
  6. The importance of incident reporting and recording.

Delivery

  1. Blended E-learning module and face to face at customer premises or one of MetaGedu’s eight delivery campuses nationwide.
  2. Programme requirements: A minimum of level 2 or equivalent in English.
