Prioritising real-world skills
For Kaif, choosing an apprenticeship over university was a deliberate decision. He was determined to gain real-world skills while continuing his education, rather than focusing solely on theory. “An apprenticeship allowed me to apply my knowledge to real-world scenarios, which is exactly what I was looking for,” Kaif says. His role at Global Banking School (GBS) provided an ideal environment for him to learn, contribute and grow professionally.
Kaif has developed a strong technical skillset over the course of his time at GBS. He has now acquired proficiency in Excel, Power BI and Power Automate, in addition to gaining a deeper understanding of the critical role data plays in driving business decisions. Yet, beyond technical skills, his experience in the workplace helped him build communication skills, develop independent working habits and gain the confidence to trust his own judgement.
