The Role: Network engineers are found in public; private and voluntary sector organisations and their primary function is to apply digital technologies across different business functions to maximise productivity. This could be working on larger, more complex systems in larger businesses or maybe supporting as a consultant to smaller organisations.

Responsibilities often include:

  • Manage and support hardware/software assets.
  • Resolve Network issues including failures and poor performance.
  • Being accountable for communicating issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Installing, configuring, and testing virtual/physical network devices.
  • Identifying opportunities for relevant CPD.
  • Maintaining accurate records of incidents and issue resolution.
